Wanda MacInnes, the designer and owner of Annabelle Design Apparel, believes every woman should feel sexy, no matter their measurements. That's exactly what her new company offers. Fed up with a lingerie industry that practically ignores a huge population of women, whether you are a size 0 or size 28, MacInnes offers custom made garments designed to make any body type fells alluring and beautiful. "Helping Women look and feel beautiful, is what its all about", Wanda said, at a recent interview with local media.

MacInnes is no stranger to the fashion industry. She grew up in a house filled with sewing, knitting and quilting. She had a flare for designing and would use fabric remnants to create clothing by hand for her Barbie or doll long before she was big enough to reach the sewing machine foot pedal. For Wanda, sewing has always been part of her daily life.

Through high school she dreamed of a career in fashion design. Upon graduation she worked for several clothing manufacturers, including a couple women's apparel manufacturers where she advanced her knowledge, techniques and perfected her skills.

As happens for so many, life took MacInnes in another direction. She spent 15 years as a paralegal, specifically in the bankruptcy industry. However, her heart never strayed very far. She continued to let her creativity flourish with her sewing, needlepoint and oil painting. In 2009 she could stray no longer. She let her creative nature take over and produced her own line of women's apparel, specializing in loungewear, sleepwear, and lingerie. When researching her business plan, many women described being frustrated, unhappy, and dissatisfied with what was available locally in intimate apparel. Her market study indicated that consumers wanted more choice in color, style, and fabric but more importantly, they wanted a good fit.

These garments were designed for everyday women who do not have a perfect shape (hour glass figure), or have measurable differences between their bust, waist or hips when compared to our standard size charts. History

Annabelle Design Apparel was created in February 2009 by designer and proprietor, Wanda MacInnes. This Nova Scotia, Canada based company is located in a small rural community about a one hour drive North of Nova Scotia's capital city, Halifax.

Last spring, Annabelle Design Apparel showed their first Collection of fine Loungewear, sleepwear and Lingerie at Atlantic Fashion Week in Halifax. This show is the largest fashion event east of Montreal, and is popular with fashionistas and the general population. It was so successful that Annabelle Design Apparel plans to be part of the spring 2011 show.

Wanda launched Annabelle Design Apparel's latest design at the Downtown Truro Partnership's 10th annual Fashion Gala show in November 2010. This event is a three night show and showcases downtown Truro, Nova Scotia retailers. Annabelle Design Apparel now has some designs on display and are for sale at The Red Marbelle Hair Studio located at the Truro Centre.

Our company recently purchased the assets and design patterns of Trousseau Treasures (1989- 2006) which was owned and operated by Mr. Roland Hyde. Roland Hyde successfully operated his lingerie, sleepwear and loungewear business by marketing his designs through local trade shows, several Nova Scotia retailers specializing in handcrafted quality goods, as well as, his on-line Web site business. His beautiful products were sold in Canada, the USA and several International countries. His web site trousseautreasures.com operated from 1993- 2006. Mr. Hyde has since retired but his 1920 to 1940’s classic elegant designs will continue to be made under the Annabelle Design Apparel Label.
